Eliška Cílková (1987) - CV LONG


Eliška Cílková began playing the piano when she was four. She successfully completed twelve years of piano lessons at basic music school, and after graduating from a specialist scientific grammar school, she studied composition with Bořivoj Suchý at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and Higher Specialized School in Prague. During her studies at the Conservatory, she also spent three years studying conducting under the direction of Michal Macourek.

Since 2009 she has been studying composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2009-2011 Mgr. Art. Lubica Čekovská, 2011-2012 Mgr. Art. Lucia Papanetzová). From September 2010 to 2011 Eliška studied Medien Komposition at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria (Univ.-Prof. Reinhard Karger). In 2010 She also attendet international courses composers "Liszt The Progressive" in Eiesenstadt, Austria.(Prof. Mag. Tibor Nemeth, ArtD.) Since september 2012 she was studying Master in Composition in Master of Arts program at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under doc. Hanuš Bartoň and she graduated in June 2014. Currently she is conducting her own research in Musical Composition as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University in the city of New York.

In spite of her focus on contemporary classical music Eliška Cílková likes working with electroacoustic music too. Her latest electroacoustic project: "PRIPYAT PIANO - SOUND DOCUMENTARY OF CHERNOBYL ZONE" has became very successful in Europe. As a composer she aso collaborates with europian artists and has composed the incidental music for a number of documentary films (Genpatsu Movie, direction LENA HASHIMOTO etc.) and theatrical performances. Her works have been performed at many festivals within and outside the Czech Republic (COLUMBIA COMPOSERS CONCERT, ATHENA FESTIVAL (USA), BBIV (AU), SOOZVUK (SK), Bezručova Opava (CZ) etc.).

Her compositions Dialog pro housle a klavír (The Dialogue for violin and piano) and V modrém salónku (The Blue Room) for solo piano won prizes at the Gramodeska International Composition Competition in 2008 and were released the same year on the CD Vinylová budoucnost mladých autorů hudby (The vinyl future: Works by young composers) and recorded for Czech Radio.

Eliška Cílková is a holder of AHUV PRIZE "BEST CZECH COMPOSER OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC" for year 2015, and VARHAN ORCHESTROVIC BAUER PRIZE for piece: "Sentence" for symphonic orchestra from 2010.
